
The 700 Challenge
Take on the 700 Challenge from Friday 3rd October to Monday 3rd November 2025 to help CLAPA support the UK cleft community all year round.
One in 700 babies is born with a cleft; that’s three every day in the UK.
The 700 Challenge is a way to raise awareness of cleft lip and palate while celebrating the one in 700.

What is the 700 Challenge?
Choose any activity you would like, and repeat it 700 times from 3rd October to 3rd November.
When? Friday 3rd October – Monday 3rd November
Where? Anywhere you want! This is a remote challenge.
How much? It’s free to sign up, and you’ll receive a free CLAPA t-shirt once you’re registered!
Your goal? Raise awareness of cleft and funds for CLAPA
Raise over £50 and receive a limited edition 700 Challenge medal (UK addresses only).
How do I sign up?
1. Choose your 700 Challenge activity
The beauty of the 700 challenge is you can choose any activity that works for you, whether you’re a fitness fanatic and want to increase your steps or maybe you’re a creative type and fancy holding a bake sale for the community with 700 cakes!
You can do what you want, when you want, with whoever you want—how you participate is completely up to you!
Need some inspiration?
Fitness Fanatic:
- Do 700 push-ups
- Cycle 700KM
- Swim 700 lengths
- Do 700 handstands
Creative Campaigner:
- Make and sell 700 bracelets
- Bake and sell 700 cakes
- Knit 700 stitches
- Want to try something totally new? Make 700 origami cranes
Children and young people:
- Read 700 pages
- Walk 700 steps (ideal for little legs!)
- Practice a skill for 700 minutes
- Save up 700 pennies!
Top tip:
Why not take part as a team in a school, workplace, or with friends and family and split the challenge between you?
2. Register your fundraiser
We’ll be notified as soon as you’re set up with your fundraising page, and we’ll be in touch to send out your FREE fundraising t-shirt (UK addresses only).
If you’d like to participate as a family or team and want separate fundraising pages that contribute to a shared ‘team total’, the team leader can sign up first and then invite others to join their team here:
3. Shout about it!
The most successful fundraisers often have personal fundraising pages. You can update your page with regular updates and photos to let your supporters know how you’re getting on.
Social media is a great way to tell everyone what you’re doing! Make sure to use the hashtag #The700Challenge or tag us on social media @clapacommunity.

5. Donations
Matched Funding:
Ask your employer if they’ll match the funds you raise or make a donation.
Paying in donations:
If you don’t use the online fundraising page and instead collect cash, information on how to pay it in can be found here.
If you would like to use sponsorship forms, these can be downloaded and printed here.
Your fundraising page:
If you use your online fundraising page to collect donations and pay in any cash donations you receive, all donations will come straight to us, making it super easy for you!
Note: If you have collected sponsorship money in person, please don’t tick the Gift Aid box.
