CLAPA’s Fundraising Manager Louise recognised at National Awards

June 12, 2025

Congratulations to our Fundraising Manager Louise Dutton, who’s been recognised for her exceptional work at this year’s National Fundraising Awards.

Hosted by the Chartered Institute of Fundraising, the glittering award ceremony was held in London’s QEII Centre on Monday night (June 9) – to celebrate high achievers in charity fundraising teams across the UK.

Louise was one of three nominees shortlisted for Newcomer of the Year, and invited to the ceremony where she picked up a Highly Commended certificate.

She smiled: “It was such an honour to be nominated at the National Fundraising Awards. Being recognised alongside so many brilliant and inspiring individuals from across the charity sector was a real privilege.

“I’m incredibly proud to represent CLAPA, and grateful for the opportunity to share the important work we do.”

The Newcomer of the Year Award nominees are professional charity fundraisers who, in the last two years, have shown “aptitude, ability and success beyond their experience”.

Louise was joined at this week’s ceremony by Mikaela, her manager and CLAPA’s Head of Income, and colleague Zoe, our Fundraising Coordinator (Individual Giving).

After just two years of working with CLAPA, Louise has now been promoted from Fundraising Officer to Community Fundraising Manager.

Mikaela nominated her for the newcomer award.

She said: “We’re incredibly proud Louise was shortlisted for Newcomer of the Year and received a ‘Highly Commended’ award among such a talented group of fundraisers.

“Her impact at CLAPA has been immense. Louise has worked closely with our amazing community fundraisers to raise vital funds, helping people born with a cleft lip and palate, and their loved ones, access vital support services and essential baby feeding equipment.

“This recognition is a testament to Louise’s dedication, and we’re thrilled her efforts have been acknowledged on a national stage.”

Mikaela said Louise had “transformed” CLAPA’s community fundraising work.

She added: “She makes everyone feel valued, and her dedication to our fundraisers – many of whom have a direct connection to our cause – goes far beyond her role, showcasing her extraordinary commitment.

“She truly embodies what it means to be a rising star in the fundraising profession.”

Mikaela said Louise’s natural leadership skills led to her swift promotion at CLAPA.

She said: “Louise also leads by example, demonstrating dedication and professionalism in all she does.

“Beyond her role, she’s personally taken on challenge events to support our fundraising work, including one memorable time when she completed her first ever running event for us – the Alton Towers 5K on an incredibly wet day!”

A spokesperson for the National Fundraising Awards added: “Our awards celebrate and recognise the achievements of remarkable fundraisers who, in extraordinary ways, have made the world a better place.

“They’re a badge of excellence and the only one of their kind that recognise fundraising best practice in the charity sector.”

Huge congratulations Louise from all the team at CLAPA!
