New Branch in Buckinghamshire and South Beds

May 5, 2016

Are you affected by cleft lip and/or palate?

Would you like to see more local events?

Could you help us set up a Branch?

We are holding an Information Evening

on Thursday 9th June

at Heathwood Lower School, Heath Road, Leighton Buzzard, LU7 3 AU (Entrance in Chiltern Gardens).

from 7:30 until 9pm (with refreshments)

Come and find out what is involved in running a branch and how you can help, share your ideas about activities that you would like to see locally for those affected by cleft lip/and or palate.

You don’t need to have any previous experience of being a volunteer or on a Branch Committee as we’ll provide lots of support, information and training. If you are interested in being part of a passionate and enthusiastic group, all keen to support people affected by Cleft, then we’d love for you to join us for an informal information morning (with tea and coffee and no obligation).

For more information contact Cherry LeRoy, South East Regional Coordinator at [email protected] or on 07985 538982

  1. I am interested in finding out about the new group as there do not seem to be any groups in my area. My 7 year old daughter was born with a cleft lip and palate and has recently expressed an interest in meeting other people who are affected. She has become much more self conscious and is starting to experience some negative comments from other children at school. It would be great for her to meet other children who understand what she is going through.

I might also be able to offer support as a volunteer, depending on my work commitments. I will try to attend the information evening.

  2. My son was born with a cleft lip 20 years ago. He had a successful repair at Stoke Mandevillle at 1 day old and has had considerable orthodontic work. He is now a happy handsome chap at uni. He did suffer some teasing aged 6 as the red of his lips was wonky which resulted in a further op to improve it.
He and I would be happy to help anyone we could.
