Godolphin Prep School swim 107,860 lengths for CLAPA

December 20, 2013

With their customary enthusiasm and determination the girls at Godolphin Prep have once again taken part in their annual charity sponsored swim. This year the school supported CLAPA, as the charity helped  Godolphin girl Lottie Reeve and her family when she was born with Cleft Palate. Now aged 9 Lottie said “ I was delighted when CLAPA was chosen to receive funds raised throughout the year from the swim and other events we run such as cake sales and quizzes. “

Every child in the school, even some as young as 3, were able to take part in helping to raise money for this fantastic charity whilst at the same time being assessed for their ASA distance awards. “Every one really tried their best, whatever their ability, swimming with style over long distances. I am really proud of their effo rts and the way they supported and encouraged each other” – Karen Wood Swimming teacher for The Godolphin Prep. In total 82 girls managed to swim 107,860 lengths which equates to approximately 67miles and whilst some fantastic distances were swum by many, special mention must go to Anna Merritt and Ellie Chalk who each managed 5000m which is 200 lengths!

CLAPA would like to say a big thank you to the Godolphin Prep School for raising £1237.50 for CLAPA and congratulate them on their fantastic achievement!
