Research Opportunity: “Parent experiences of having a child with visible differences and talking about this with others.”

Researchers at Oxford University are seeking parents of children (aged 16 years and under) with a visible difference to support their new project:

“Parent experiences of having a child with visible differences and talking about this with others.”

To take part, researchers are inviting parents to complete an anonymous 20 minute online survey answering questions on:

•           Their wellbeing

•           Their child’s visible difference

•           How stigmatised they feel

•           Disclosure styles (how parents communicate about their child’s appearance with others)

The research is looking to improve visible difference stigmatisation, and support parents and children affected by this. We also hope to gain insight into improving family wellbeing via the study.

Parents need to be aged 18 years and above, live in the UK or USA, and have access to a computer, tablet, or smartphone to complete the survey.
