“In April 2016 I will be leaving CLAPA to take a career break and pursue my other interests in conservation and ecology. The Trustees have started the process of recruiting my successor and I’m sure that CLAPA will continue to develop and provide much needed support to people affected by cleft.

“Amongst other things, over the next year we will implement the findings of our five-year survey, expand our regional support and employ a member of staff based in Wales, run a successful Awareness Week campaign (7th – 15th May), and host our Annual Conference. We will also continue to represent our membership in discussions on the way cleft services are provided across the UK and make sure that everyone has access to the information and support they need.

“Since I am not leaving until next April there will be plenty of time to recruit and handover to my successor but if you have any questions about what effect this will have on CLAPA or the handover arrangements then feel free to email me at [email protected].

“I will be very sad to leave CLAPA but I look forward to catching up with lots of you over the next 6 months before I leave and I hope to see many of you at our Conference on Nov 21st either in person or online.

“With very best wishes and thanks for your support over the last 7 years.”

Mark Russell, Chair of CLAPA’s Trustees, commented

“Rosanna’s tenure as CEO has seen CLAPA thrive during a period of difficulty for many charities. This is down to Rosanna’s leadership and the building of a fantastic and growing team around her, as well as the volunteers that support us all.

“We will wish Rosanna well when she leaves next year. In the meantime we carry on delivering our strategy and operational plan, always focused on involving and supporting those affected by clefts, and improving service provision. We’ll be working closely with Rosanna and the CLAPA team to recruit a the right person to the CEO role, and appreciate the time Rosanna has given us to do this effectively.”
