Take on a personal challenge and help support people born with a cleft across the UK.

Support CLAPA by taking on a challenge

By taking part in a challenge event and fundraising for CLAPA, you’ll be helping us support people and families affected by cleft lip and palate across the UK. CLAPA receives no government or NHS funding, so every challenge you take on helps us continue providing vital services and support.

From running and walking to cycling, swimming and more, there are plenty of ways to support CLAPA.

There are challenge events taking place all over the UK – and options for all ages, abilities and interests. You can browse our challenge events and use filters to find one that suits you.

Our events are run through our partners Run for Charity and Skyline, among others. When you click below, please note that you may be taken to a partner webpage to search for availability.

Ultra walks

Find Ultra walks with our partners ‘Run for charity’.

We walked from Winchester to Southampton, along the Itchen Way. We got lost in the dark and almost walked into a sleeping herd of cows. It was like a mini safari adventure, we saw alpacas and bats that started to fly around our heads

We had so much fun, and it felt great to contribute to CLAPA.

Other types of event

When I booked the Ironman, I couldn’t swim a length in the pool, and barely ever cycled. I didn’t own a bike. I had a pair of trainers, that was all.

I was just doing Ironman for me, I didn’t really want the pressure of doing it for charity because of how hard a challenge it was – I thought, if I don’t finish, I’m just going to feel guilty. And then, obviously, with Gracie being born, everything changed.
