Vacancy: Communications Officer

October 9, 2017

Full-time, based in CLAPA’s Office in Islington, London

As the Communications Officer, you will be responsible for CLAPA’s vibrant social media pages and information-packed website. You will also be involved with growing and managing our active community of parents, patients and health professionals.

You will be the link between CLAPA’s services and the people that need them the most, finding new and innovative ways to advertise events and opportunities through a variety of channels to reach the most appropriate audiences.

The successful candidate will be an excellent communicator able to juggle many competing priorities with a positive attitude and a genuine passion for supporting the people CLAPA works with. They will have a strong understanding of how to use data to inform future strategy, and will enjoy the challenge of using CLAPA’s limited resources to create communications which inspire the thousands of people engaging with our work each day.

Candidates with paid experience and a proven track record with print and digital communications, social media and/or administrative work are preferred, but we will consider exceptional graduates with unpaid experience.

See our Recruitment Pack (below) for more details about the post.

Working for CLAPA

Over the past six years, CLAPA has quadrupled in size to 24 staff members, most of whom are part-time and/or home-based. But with all this growth, we haven’t lost our heart as a small, friendly charity where everyone pitches in and each contribution is valued. We encourage cross-team working to give staff a chance to test their skills and learn about every area of how a modern charity operates.

Benefits for staff include ongoing development and training, as well as flexible working hours so you can find a timetable that suits you.
