CLAPA is the Asian Voice Charity of the Year

May 31, 2018

CLAPA was delighted to be awarded ‘Charity of the Year’ by the Asian Voice Charity Awards in May 2018.

It was a great honour to be amongst such an impressive range of nominees representing truly worthy causes, and a wonderful surprise to be named ‘Charity of the Year’.

The Asian Voice Charity Awards celebrate charities based on their innovation, hands-on approach to present day issues, and their progress towards achieving their goals, big and small.

“Charities all around Britain do great work every day. The Asian Voice Charity Awards powered by Charity Clarity are not only about charities which seek to solve the most pressing social issues of our time both in Britain and globally, but also for those that seek to innovate and strive for excellence and whose success is judged by their end results.” – Asian Voice Charity Awards website (asianvoicecharityawards.com)

This award recognised in particular CLAPA’s clear direction for development with regards to our Regional Coordinator Project, which trains volunteers and generates local activity throughout the UK, as well as our new Adult Services Project. We’ve always been small charity with big ambitions, and we’d like to say a huge thank you to the Asian Voice Charity Awards for their belief in our work.

The independent evaluation of our Regional Coordinator Project has demonstrated its great success in delivering services that really make a difference to the lives of people affected by cleft, and CLAPA’s goal is to expand this project as much as possible to ensure equal access for all.

We are delighted to be recognised in this way, and hope this award will give us greater reach into the Asian cleft community to ensure no one has to go through their cleft journey alone.

We can’t wait to hear more from Asian Voice and Charity Clarity about what’s next.
