I am middle-age and still concerned bout how I sound. I think things are done a lot better now but in my day operations were quite crude. Is there anything I can do about it now?
There may be options for you to get further speech therapy or even undergo some surgery or other treatment and your first call should be to your nearest regional cleft centre – see the link above. Sometimes everyone becomes so used to your speech that you may feel you cannot change it but there may be other options still available. Contact the speech and language therapist at your nearest cleft palate centre – you may need a referral letter from your GP.
