Adults
Over the years CLAPA has focused it attention primarily on new parents, babies and children with clefts. We had never sought to provide dedicated services for people who had finished their cleft treatment and moved on in life or who had reached the end of their current involvement with cleft services. However, we do often receive calls and emails from adults born with a cleft seeking information and advice or sometimes just needing to chat or are interested in chatting to someone affected by the condition.
We decided to look at ways of offering specific services for older people such as:-
- Our Forum/Discusssion group
- Dedicated information section on this website which will signpost people with specific questions to places where they can get their questions answered
- Annual meetings for adult tailored to their specific needs
- Direct people to an independent cleft forum (not moderated by CLAPA) http://www.faceforward.org.uk
We are always open to new ideas and would welcome your comments on our Adult services.
